1 Corinthians 1:18

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.

This verse reminds us that the message of the cross can seem foolish to those who do not believe. The idea that a man could die for our sins and rise again to give us eternal life may seem impossible or even ridiculous to some.

But to those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, the message of the cross is the power of God. It is through the sacrifice of Jesus that we have been saved from our sins and given new life in Him.

So how do we apply this verse to our lives? First, we must recognize that there will be those who do not understand or accept the message of the cross. We may encounter people who scoff at our faith or who do not understand why we believe what we believe.

In these situations, we must remember that our faith is not based on human wisdom or understanding, but on the power of God. We can trust in His wisdom and His plan, even when it doesn't make sense to others.

Secondly, we must remember the power of the message of the cross in our own lives. It is through the sacrifice of Jesus that we have been saved, and we must never forget the incredible gift of salvation that we have received.

When we remember the power of the message of the cross in our own lives, it can inspire us to share that message with others. We can share the hope and the joy that we have found in Christ, even with those who may not understand or accept it at first.

May we never forget the power of the message of the cross in our lives. And may we always be willing to share that message with others, even when it seems foolish or impossible to them. For it is through the message of the cross that we have been saved, and it is through that same message that others can find salvation and new life in Jesus Christ.
